Returning to Blogosphere
Posting after such a long hiatus, that it seems like this is not even my blog anymore. A big relief came in like a cool breeze that calmed me down for the rest of my life. Finally I am not unemployed anymore.I can now proudly call myself a Petroleum Engineer .A big task can now be crossed off for a while from my ambition list ha.!! So what’s new, KKR won the IPL and Italy and Spain are in Finals of EURO 2012. Petrol prices are going up and down. Heat waves are now getting serious on what they do best with their Good-old chap Mr. Global Warming catching up. Our Prime minister passed yet another session with all his murmuring and straight-hand walks. Mukherjee and Sangma are fighting for President seat(the most worthless yet respected honorary post which can be provided in the country).
For the Tv lovers add Dexter to your “must-watch-before-die”category. Awesome story,Awesome crimes,Mind blowing background commentary, Cool sets and to top it all , Intelligent character. The protagonist is Blood splatter expert in Miami Police department and he kills people for a reason too.So he catches Criminals while he himself is Serial killer. The best part of the show is non-stop commentary of the protagonist throughout the episode which is flawless. Apart of that, the other supporting characters, seems like are designed for the show only. The look like being handpicked to work on the show and provided a wonderful job.
Yes I have already watched 24, Criminal minds, Mentalist, White Collar, and to compare them with Dexter can’t be justified. The basic difference being all these have one sided approach of the Good people while in Dexter you can witness the dark side, i.e.the other side of the coin as well, hence changes the entire show’s perception. Be prepared for witnessing cut, sliced, grind-ed,chain sawed ,human body parts as it’s full of them, but not like as depicted in SAW movie way but in a way more elegant manner. It’s not easy for a Tv series to get an above 9 rating on IMDB.
For the novel lovers , I finished reading Immortals of Meluha, and Between the Assassination.
Immortals of Meluha - What to say about a book released in 2010 and still topping the Bestseller list. Amish tripathi has opened up the gates to themes inspired from mythology. It was enough for those chessy ,cute love stories that every passout from an engineering and management writers had begun to write. No offence but enough of them already. We all have read Chetan bhagat nice mushy mushy coochy coochy stories which kind of started my encounters with novels. But as we move toward a meaningful life and weird questions of “Who am I?” and “What is my purpose of my existence?” pop up here and there our empty minds’ devil’s workshop, its time for a change and this is the book which can provide it to you. While maintaining the charm of a romantic lover as Shiva,it intensifies and glorifies on a man’s journey of life. Kudos to overall execution and plot setting.A definite page turner. While the book is Part one of Shiva trilogy, the other two parts-The Secret of Nagas also a bestseller, and The Oath of Vayuputras(to be published) are surely going to hit the right note as well.
Between the Assassination-By Man Booker prize winner Arvind Adiga ,is a charmer. I bought it because I was deeply inspired by his previous novel “The White tiger”. The novel revolves around the infamous assassination of Our beloved Prime Ministers Mrs.Indira Gandhi and Mr.Rajiv Gandhi in a place called Kittur down in South India. Though the book has no direct mention of any assassination, the story revolves around in parts taking characters from various strata of society as it shows the feelings, the hardships, the human bonds, and their life in Kittur, the town serves as a mutual character which forms as a backdrop and a lively character in every story. By this collection of short stories, the various ways of life are dealt with at a steady pace where changing and modernized India tries to remodel the face of Kittur. An inspiring read for those interested in quotes from nature, poverty and luxury life clashes, and human emotions.
To end it all I would like to quote one dialogue from Dexter.
Kill one man , and you're Murderer,
Kill thousands and you're Conqueror,
Kill them all and you're God.
